WELCOME TO ECOLINK

We are situated on the Plaston Road, White River, Mpumalanga Province in South Africa.

We are a service organisation that provides training and support to disadvantaged rural communities.

We were established in 1985 by Dr Sue Hart and are a non-profit, non governmental organisation founded on a deep respect for people and for the natural environment. The theme of environmental education - in its broadest sense runs throughout all our training projects. Ecolink's core activities are around organic farming and small scale farmer development, youth development and food and water security with a particular focus on rain water harvesting.

Ecolink staff provide training and support for men, women, youth and small children in remote rural settings who are face hardships on an everyday basis because of of HIV/AIDS, food and water insecurity, crime, corruption, poor health and joblessness. Ecolink staff respond to demand from vulnerable rural communities and carry the historical memory of the organisation that has been doing the same kind of work for over 21 years.

Ecolink has developed sound, practical and effective ways of supporting growth, capacity building and sustainability to address these problems and to contribute to the building of safer and stronger communities.
